Why does vertex sorting appear in 3-particle scattering?
I'm a bit stumped on why 3-particle scattering appears to require a vertex sorting. Looking at diagrams for what should be the various channels (singlet, triplet, etc.) from pnchannels.tex, it appears to me that the scattering of 2 particles is into two different states (at least 1, maybe 2), with 2 particles being emitted/absorbed by the original particle.
Why does 3-particle scattering appear to be needed to be more complicated (see diagrams for cuts) than 2-particle scattering?
The reason for this is to avoid double counting: If you take the 2-particle scattering integral and plot it in different channels, you can find the bound state channels from which you obtain the asymptotic cross section, and the continuum channels from which you obtain the scattering cross section, but only the former channels are used in the 0b46394aab
