Remove asparagus roots from shipping box immediately & untie the bundles. Do not water your asparagus roots upon arrival. For best results, plant them as soon as possible. If you need to keep roots longer than two weeks, untie bunch and spread roots out. Store in a cool, dry place until planting time.

Asparagus plants (Asparagus officinalis) are perennial vegetables that produce tasty, tender spears year after year. With proper care and maintenance, asparagus plants can produce in your garden for over 15 years! Asparagus varieties are available in two color options: traditional green asparagus, which is a more vigorous grower, and the burgundy-purple asparagus, which produces sweeter, more tender spears. Lift the asparagus crowns in June / July and separate them into individual plants. Using a spade, wedge open the bed and insert the crown with the roots in a fan shape. Space plants 30 cm apart in full sun. Water well and fertilise with an organic fertiliser every Aug / Sept.
